    Spanking Children?

Do you believe in spanking your children? Why or why not? I believe that it teaches them discipline. And as the old proverb says: Prov 22:15: "Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him."

I think it wrong. Why should you commit pain on a child when you are far stronger than them?! You can provide punishment and show them discipline without spanking children. It is wrong, full stop.

It builds character and whips them into a better person. Jesus Christ suffered and died for Christian salvation and he got whipped as well. The rod of correction will take foolishness and any other devil ideas out of him.

Builds character?! By hitting a child?! That is wrong. Plain wrong. There are plenty of ways to help children develop character, but hitting them is not one of them!

Yes, it's similar to sending your kid to boot camp. I don't tell you how to raise your child. I think you should be able to teach your child DISCIPLINE.

Nothing wrong with spanking your child as long as you are not beating them. If you do it right you will not have to do it but a couple times. My young boy runs and does what he told if I even stand up. I have only spanked him twice in his life.

I use time outs instead of spanking. It seems to work ok.

My kid will not get her favorite food if she does not listen to me. And I try to discipline her by example. If I say she should sleep at 11, I should also follow, though I get up later if there is any unfinished work. I tell her not to lie and I never lie - bit difficult at the start I agree.
