Sixth grade student Bailey O’Neil from Darby Township, Pennsylvania is currently in a coma as a result of a fight with fellow students at school. The boy’s parents allege that it is a case of school bullying.
According to Bailey’s parents, the boy was in a fight one month ago when he was repeatedly struck in the face suffering a broken nose. Bailey was taken to the A.I. DuPont Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware where doctors diagnosed the boy with a concussion.
Bailey was not hospitalized at that time. However, the boy’s father noticed that his son was not behaving in a normal manner and was not eating properly. Two weeks later, Bailey experienced severe seizures. He was immediately hospitalized, and the doctors placed the boy in a medically induced coma.
The superintendent of the school district said that the incident was under investigation and that the police department was involved. As of yet, no charges have been filed in the matter.
