Elmo Puppeteer Allegations

Kevin Clash, well-known as the puppeteer for Elmo, is currently embroiled in controversy over explicit emails sent to an underage teen.

The Sesame Street workshop immedietly took action after discovering issues with Clash. They launched an query and determined that he had abused the no internet policy while at work.

Reportedly, Clash used the internet to send emails declaring his love and apologize for his excessive conversations about sex.

The accused also reportedly offered to purchase a plane ticket for the minor to visit him in New York so that they could spend time together. Clash is adamant that it was a consentual relationship between two consenting and willing adults. Amid the allegations, Clash left to take time to deal with the fallout. The future of Clash may be in questions but not the future of Elmo. According to the Sesame Street Worshop, Elmo is “bigger than any one person.”

According to Yahoo News, the accuser has now “recanted” his allegations.

“We are pleased that this matter has been brought to a close, and we are happy that Kevin can move on from this unfortunate episode,” Sesame Workshop said in a statement on its website Tuesday. Added Clash in his own statement: “”I am relieved that this painful allegation has been put to rest. I will not discuss it further.”
