Potty Training

What are some comical experiences you have had with your child during this period? Is your child potty trained? What is some tips of trying to potty train them? I would say try a reward system which could work well.

Reward system will work well, but the kids must understand it is a part of growing up also. Try and make it more of a fun thing to do and praise them when they successfully do it right, rather than punishing them for getting it wrong.

Reward system is a good option, I like to reward my son with candy when he tells me he needs to go. I think another option is that they will say they 'want to be a big boy/girl' and the maturation process will kick in.

Exactly, especially if they have an older sibling, they will want to be more like the older child, who will more than likely mock them for not using a potty.

The older sibling could mock them for not being potty trained, but it is a good way to make them resilient. By being resilient, this will help them in the future and give them great growth and development.

We have a treasure box for my 3 year old. Every time he goes in the potty he gets to pick something. We put in suckers, balloons, small cheap toys. Stuff you get off the 10 for $1 shelf. He thinks it is great and goes in the potty just for that. Good luck!

My 2 year old is still afraid of the potty and the toilet. Until she gets over this fear there is no way I can start training.

girl, it might help if you let her go in the bathroom with you while going and let her flush the potty. Kids thinks that is fun. After a while tell her if she wants to flush it then she needs to sit on it. It will all work out, good luck.
