Pink Bibles Cause Uproar, Removed From Shelvs

LifeWay Christian Resources has pulled thousands of the company’s recently published pink breast cancer awareness Bibles from store shelves.

The Bibles were published in partnership with Susan G. Komen for the Cure, a foundation dedicated to breast cancer awareness and education. LifeWay was notified after the Bibles were released that the Susan G. Komen foundation was in support of Planned Parenthood, a family planning service that can assist women in receiving abortions.

The Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation has said that they were sorry to see LifeWay discontinue the sales of their ‘Here’s Hope Breast Cancer Awareness Bible,’ from which the foundation was to receive $1 out of each sale. LifeWay was in its first year of partnership with the foundation and had pledged more than $20,000 to the cause.

The Bibles were released in October which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month in the United States.
