Toxic Waste Short Circuits Bubble Gum Recall

Circle City Marketing and Distributing has issued a voluntary recall for one of their product after it tested above FDA tolerance levels for lead.

The company operates under the name Candy Dynamics, Indianapolis, IN, and the affected product is limited to the 3.2 oz. (90 g) bags of Toxic Waste Short Circuits Bubble Gum from lot# 15070SC12. The recalled bags can further be identified by the UPC 0 89894 31001 3.

This product was distributed primarily throughout the United States from January 4, 2011 until March 18, 2011, but small amounts were all sold in Canada and Switzerland.

This measure is being taken after the lot tested at 0.189 parts per million for lead, exceeding the FDA threshold of 0.100 ppm. No illnesses have been reported at this time.

The company has notified their direct customers of the recall, and asks that anyone who has some of the affected product to call the company for instructions. Eileen O’Neal, a company representative, will be available Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm EST at (317) 228-5012 to answer questions.
