Woman Arrested in the Deaths of Her Seven Babies

Provo, Utah – A woman in this heavily Mormon metropolis of over half a million people has been shocked at the arrest of 39-year-old Megan Huntsman. Police believe that she successfully concealed seven pregnancies over a ten year period from 1996 to 2006 and murdered each child shortly after giving birth in her home. Each child was wrapped up and stored away in the garage of her residence, an upper-middle class home owned by her former in-laws.

Mrs. Huntsman had divorced, but the pregnancies occurred during her marriage. Her ex-husband has plead complete ignorance of her pregnancies and child births. Presumably, he is the father of the seven deceased children, but a DNA test is being conducted to establish paternity. Thus far, the police are inclined to believe he had nothing to do with the deaths of the children. Darren West, the ex-husband, is a convicted felon who was recently released from the state penitentiary. At first, he was given an initial 9-year sentence for intent to product methamphetamines, but was paroled much sooner than that. He was preparing to move back into the home and part of the preparation involved cleaning out the garage. During his clean up, he discovered a baby wrapped in a blanket and stuffed inside a plastic bag. He immediately involved police who searched the garage and discovered five additional babies for a total of six. They later found a seventh body.

An arrest warrant was issued for Mrs. Huntsman who has since been taken into custody. Her neighbors are stunned given her seemingly delightful personality. The most common statement from neighbors is how Mrs. Huntsman could conceal so many pregnancies from her immediate family without anyone knowing about them. She is now being held on a million dollar bond per deceased child for a total of $7 million.
