“Sleuth by day, procreator by night,” this could Guy Ritchie’s new tagline. The British filmmaker and former Mr. Madonna is expecting again with his girlfriend Jacqui Ainsely. Ainsely, a 29-year-old model, has been with Ritchie for roughly a year. The child will be her first, and his third: he already has two sons, Rocco, age 10, and David, age 5, from his tempestuous eight-year union with the Material Girl.
Ritchie, who rocketed to cinematic acclaim with his 1998 comedy-crime film “Lock, Stock, and 2 Smoking Barrels” is currently at work on the sequel to the critically drubbed but commercially successful “Sherlock Holmes,” which stars Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law. Ritchie’s film CV so far has more misses than hits, but the delightful promise of his early work, coupled with the success of the Sherlock Holmes franchise, has apparently kept him on the A-list and in the mood for love.
There’s no word on whether he plans to collaborate cinematically with his new baby’s momma: the last time he mixed business and pleasure, he produced the widely panned “Swept Away.” The new Sherlock Holmes movie, entitled “A Game of Shadows,” is set for release later this year.
